Pastor's Spiritual Journey

JH photo.jpg

You are cordially invited to dress casual and come to Solutions Christian Church International on Sunday Nights at 6:30 pm.

In 1991, as a babe in Christ, Pastor Horowitz received several prophecies about her call into the ministry from different visiting pastors at her home church of Calvary Resurrectional Missionary Church, where Pastor Hansford K. Worline fervently taught and demonstrated the love of God. Several years later, Pastor Horowitz moved abroad to The Netherlands and later to Mexico where she first heard the voice of God confirming His call for her to work in ministry. Being that Pastor Horowitz was unwed and a single mother with a little girl, she accepted and pondered the call given to her from the scriptures in Ezekiel. Several years later when she returned to the United States, she started a bible study in a tiny apartment in Litchfield, Arizona at the home of a U.S. Air Force family.

In 2000, Pastor Horowitz returned to reside in Sherman Oaks, California with her then seven years old daughter, and she obeyed the voice of God and attended In His Presence Church under the tutelage and spirit-filled teachings of Pastors Mel and Desire Ayres. While faithfully attending church four times per week, and diligently seeking God in the Holy Bible, Pastor Horowitz received further detailed instructions from God about her call to lead several ministries. God confirmed His word to Pastor Horowitz on several occasions; certainly when He sent her from Los Angeles, California with only one penny in her pocket and on a first-class airline flight to a ministers and pastors conference in Atlanta, Georgia.

Pastor Horowitz was born in Compton and reared in Inglewood, California. She returned and earned a bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies and Education from the University of California, Los Angeles-UCLA. When she graduated the Salvation Army's Executive Director, Ms. Estella Wilson, requested she become a volunteer minister to teach bible studies exclusively to their 70 homeless and veteran clients. After a year at the Salvation Army, Pastor Horowitz formed a legal church, Solutions Christian Church International. In 2009, before the SCCI congregation and an ordination council, Pastor Horowitz accepted the charge from Pastor Broadnex of Firm Foundation Christian Church to become the senior pastor of SCCI according to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. SCCI obtained its 501c3 status and joined the Creflo Dollar Ministers Association (CDMA).

Since Sunday, May 20th, 2007 and for three consecutive years Pastor Horowitz worked and served as an unpaid minister and pastor serving people that were in a similar situation from her past at the Salvation Army in Westwood. This experience was quite rewarding; but also extremely limiting because the general public were not allowed to attend the church for the safety of the women in domestic abuse situations. SCCI was totally limited from increase. Fervently, Pastor Horowitz inquired of the Lord and asked for help. First, IT GOT WORSE, for budget cut reasons the Salvation Army closed on Sundays, so the church was reduced again to a Thursday night bible study. Ironically, bible study attendance increased substantially. Currently the church meets Sunday nights 6:30 pm.
